Lachlan Aldred

The Workflow Laboratory supports interaction with industry partners, vendors, researchers, other universities and research centres by providing a state of the art facility incorporating major commercial workflow and process modelling tools.

Much of the research in BPM revolves around workflow. One of the main developments is the YAWL initiative. YAWL is a powerful workflow language combining practical insights from the workflow patterns research and theoretical insights from Petri nets.

Nick Russell, pictured right, is the operational manager of the workflow lab.

Pictured above is Lachlan Aldred, a PhD student and research assistant in this area. Among others, Lachlan is implementing the YAWL engine, while research student Lindsay Bradford, pictured below, is working on a GUI for YAWL.
